The cost of healthcare in the United States was so high and overwhelming that a friend introduced me to the CMM Christian Medical Association, and I became a member and have been for about seven years.
One day, I started having a slight stomach ache that eventually became so painful that I couldn't walk, so I went to the emergency room and had surgery for acute appendicitis. The surgery went well, but I was discharged the same day due to the high cost.
Three weeks later, I started getting calls about the cost of the surgery and other related expenses, and when I realized all the costs, I was stunned by the staggering medical bills.
I called Christian Medical Aid after praying daily, knowing that our Lord would surely cover the cost of the surgery.
In a very calm voice, he comforted me, saying, "How much pain did that hurt, how hard must it have been for you?" and then went into detail, saying, "Don't worry about the cost of the surgery. Don't worry about the cost of the surgery, we'll help you." As tears welled up in my eyes, gratitude and peace came over me.
I recently received all of my surgery expenses covered, and I really appreciated how quickly and accurately you processed the date of my surgery expenses.
I give thanks and glory to God that the Christian Medical Relief Society was able to help me pay for the surgery, and I am deeply grateful to the organization and its members. I am also deeply grateful to those who handled everything quickly and those who counseled me with warm words of comfort.
We pray that as you tell others about Christian Medical Relief Society, more members will join and expand the ministry of sharing medical expenses in need.
