Pre-Join Condition Medical Expenses Sharing
CMM provides medical expense sharing even for conditions that occurred before becoming a member, by setting yearly sharing range based on each illness and the member's years of participation. Medical expense sharing for Pre-Join Conditions is available at all levels, allowing for continuous health management for all members.
Pre-Join Conditions I
• The medical bills for hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia will be shared within the 'Yearly Sharing Range' (refer to the table below) if you have not been hospitalized for these conditions within 12 months before joining. Prescription medication for pre-join conditions will not be shared.
•The medical bills for cardiovascular conditions, such as heart attack, coronary artery disease, or stroke caused by arteriosclerosis, will be shared within the yearly sharing range (refer to the table below) if (1) it has been declared "cured" by a doctor, (2) it has not shown any signs, symptoms, testing, or required treatments for 12 months before joining, and (3) you have not been on prescription medications related to cardiovascular conditions other than aspirin.
Pre-Join Conditions II
For all other medical conditions not listed in Pre-Join Conditions I, if the member had any signs, symptoms, hospital/clinic visits, tests (such as blood tests, radiology, etc.), or treatments (including prescription medications) within 12 months before joining, then the medical expenses may be shared within the 'Yearly Sharing Range' (refer to Pre-Join Conditions 2 in the table below) after 12 months of participation. However, heart conditions and cancer are exceptions.
Yearly Sharing Range for Pre-Join Conditions
Medical Bills for Cataract Surgery
• Gold Plus and Gold Levels: Cataract surgery is eligible for sharing beginning in the third year of membership (after 24 consecutive months of participation).
• If the member already had a cataract condition before joining, it will be considered a Pre-Join Condition II and will be eligible for sharing.
• Silver and Bronze Levels: Cataract surgery is eligible for sharing beginning in the sixth year of membership (after 60 consecutive months of participation).
