Health Care Sharing Ministry
Health Care Sharing Ministry (HCSM) is a concept of realizing the love of Jesus Christ in the community, which is rooted in the Bible and has been practiced in various communities throughout the history of Christianity. In modern times, HCSM has been developed and systematized in the United States since 1950, when the children of missionaries in the United States collected money to cover medical expenses when their parents or relatives who were serving overseas suddenly fell ill and were unable to pay the large medical bills. Logos Missions started Christian Mutual Med-Aid(CMM) in 1996 as a solution to medical expenses for Korean Christians through the "Korean Christian Journal" When Obamacare was implemented nationwide in 2014, CMM was recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a penalty-free organization, and it has grown rapidly and now serves Korean Christians from all walks of life. Now, through the establishment of a Korean-style preventure medical center, we hope to create a sustainable legacy so that the ministry can continue to serve future generations by providing not only treatment but also prevention.

The Health Care Sharing Ministry (HCSM) is a concept that embodies the love of Jesus Christ within a community; it is rooted in the Bible and has been practiced by various Christian communities throughout history. In modern times, this ministry originated in the United States in the 1950s when the children of missionaries pooled their money to cover the medical expenses of their parents or relatives who were suddenly stricken with illness while serving overseas and were unable to afford the substantial costs. This initiative evolved and became systematized, eventually establishing the HCSM ministry throughout the United States. This ministry began when the Christian Medical Mutual Aid Society (CMM) introduced this initiative as a solution for medical expenses for Korean Christians through the “Christian Journal.” Subsequently, in 2004, when Obamacare was implemented across the United States, CMM was recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as an exempt organization, leading to rapid growth. Today, CMM serves Korean Christians from all walks of life. Now, through the establishment of a Korean-style health screening center, we aim to provide not only treatment but also preventive care, thereby creating a sustainable legacy that ensures our medical cost-sharing ministry continues for future generations.
