every Wednesday and Sunday for intercessory prayer for the sick.
Eunjoo Lee | CMM Member, Ohio
My name is Eunjoo Lee and I live in Cleveland, Ohio. I first heard about CMM through my wife's church seven years ago, and I joined because I lost my health insurance when I quit my job at the time and was facing a lot of medical bills.
Especially since I was taking care of my two-year-old daughter, I decided that I needed it for her sake. At first, I had my doubts about how much it could really help.
But contrary to my fears, every time I've had an unexpected medical expense, they've been quick to respond, which has been a huge financial help, and it's made me realize that joining CMM was a good choice. Until now, I hadn't really thought about the work that CMM does behind the scenes.
Last December, I went to the emergency room with sudden shortness of breath. After a basic examination, I was sent home without finding a specific cause, but the abdominal pain I had been experiencing worsened and became a major concern.
When I went to the doctor a few months ago, I had been prescribed stomach medication for what I thought was simple gastritis and had been taking it for a month and a half, so the sudden pain and shortness of breath was even more unsettling.
My post-discharge appointment for further testing was two to three months away, and in the meantime, I was in pain and anxiety every day. In late January, I contacted CMM with a prayer request, and a representative told me they had an intercessory prayer time during their Wednesday service and would pray with me.
Surprisingly, a few days later, the pain that had been bothering me started to fade away. I was having trouble eating because of the pain, but my appetite returned and I could feel myself getting more and more energized.
At first I thought it was temporary, but as time went on, my recovery became apparent, and I was convinced that many of my symptoms had disappeared. Follow-up tests showed no abnormalities other than mild asthma, and I am now doing well.
The fact that so many people prayed for me, especially those who had never met me or even knew me, was a deep reminder of God's love. Because of your prayers, I was able to experience God's love in faithfully answering my prayers, and I am truly grateful that we can share this joy together and glorify God.
We have learned that CMM Christian Medical Relief goes beyond just financial support, serving behind the scenes in prayer and demonstrating the love of a community united in Christ. We are deeply grateful to CMM for this valuable ministry and praise the Lord for uniting us all in Christ. To God be all the glory.
